Adventure Bound Expeditions‘ mission is to design and conduct high quality, exciting outdoor adventures tours with “trip of a lifetime” experiences for gay men to destinations throughout the world. Since 1989 we designed and conducted one well choreographed tour per year to destinations which alternate between Europe, Africa, South and Central America, Asia, and Australia and the South Pacific.
Our active adventures have taken us to the remote corners of the earth to explore awesome natural wonders and experience unique and exotic cultures. We have trekked and hiked in the majestic mountains of the world including the Andes and South America; the Himalayas, Kackar and Altai of Asia; the Alps, Pyrenees, and Carpathian of Europe; the Atlas and Drakensburg of Africa; and the Southern Alps of New Zealand. On safaris we have observed the great wildlife populations of east and southern Africa and rafted wild and scenic rivers like the Omo of Ethiopia. In Australia we explored the Outback, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef and kayaked along quiet bays of Sydney Harbor. In the Galapagos Islands we photographed unique species of wildlife, snorkeled the magical reef and climbed active volcanoes. Our tours also include visits to areas of great natural beauty such as Victoria Falls in Africa, Iguaçu Falls in Brazil, Lake Baikal in Siberia, Lake Titicaca in Bolivia, and the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador.
Our tours also focus on developing an understanding of the cultures of the countries we visit. We tour world-class art museums, visit historical and architectural sites, visit the great archaelogical sites such as Machu Picchu, attend the Bolshoi Ballet, musical and local cultural performances, visit the great wine-making regions of the world and enjoy the local cuisines. We have visited the age-old and unique cultures in the remote mountains of the Himalayas and Andes and developed an understanding and respect for these wise ancient civilizations.
Our tours afford the opportunity to explore the many gay cultures of the world. We often lodge in gay establishments and venture out to mingle with the local gays and discover the commonality of gay cultures around the world.
